Acoustic Blues Star Coming to McDonogh
Scott Ainslie, one of today's finest blues-folk musicians, will perform in Tagart Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. A reception with the artist will follow the concert.
Reviewing his latest CD “Thunder’s Mouth," the Washington Post calls his voice “soulful” and “robust.”
Upper school history teacher John Wood, who was instrumental in bringing Ainslie to McDonogh, says, "Scott is simply astounding live, playing both a traditional acoustic guitar and a 1931 National Steel resonator guitar and singing with a voice filled with power and conviction. His love for the blues is matched by his appreciation for his audience and his ability to talk about his music."
During the school day on April 13, Ainslie will perform for students in all three division. He will also conduct a 90-minute workshop on playing slide guitar on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. If you are interested in participating in the workshop, contact John Wood at jwood@jackielui.net.
