Woods Road Improvements Underway
A construction trailer has been moved to Woods Road, signaling the start of planned improvements to the Woods/McDonogh Road intersection.
Major work will begin when the final permits are issued by county and state agencies. The project will be completed in two phases: 12 weeks of major road work and replacement of the culvert under the road.
The new intersection will have a right-hand turn lane from the school onto McDonogh Road. It will also widen McDonogh Road so that traffic coming from Painters Mill Road can pass while other cars wait to turn onto campus. A traffic signal will be installed to control the intersection.
Because of environmental regulations and required permits, the replacement of the culvert under McDonogh Road at the present intersection will likely take place after the major roadwork is done.
Every attempt will be made to keep Woods Road open during construction.
During the project, the school will send out periodic updates.
