A Devastating Loss for the McDonogh Family
Catie Carnes '10, who had just begun her freshman year at Mt. St. Mary's University, collapsed yesterday while playing volleyball and passed away shortly thereafter. Catie had been a McDonogh student since kindergarten. She loved life, friends, volleyball, and riding.
Said Headmaster Charlie Britton, "Catie was upbeat, kind, compassionate, and dear to many in our community, and we are devastated by this news. Our focus right now is to support and comfort one another through this tragedy. Our hearts go out to the Carnes family during this very difficult time."
